Bill Goodwin
Born in Conway, Arkansas, in 1951, he grew up in a military and ministry family. After high school, he joined the Arkansas Army National Guard and later attended Central Baptist College, where he met his wife, Deborah. They married in 1971 and have three children.
He surrendered to the gospel ministry in 1976 and has served as a Baptist pastor in Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. Since 1993, he has served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Newark, Arkansas. He and Deborah have also adopted three of their granddaughters.
His book, The Prayers of Jonah, grew from a sermon on Jonah’s prayers and was written during a period of illness in 2023. His hope is that the book will encourage believers to develop a deeper and more meaningful prayer life.
